Black Collegiate Musicians
Black Collegiate Musicians
Their mission is to provide black collegiate musicians with access to financial, professional, and mental health resources, uplifting them as they navigate higher education journeys.
The vision is to create a world where Black Collegiate Musicians have access to resources tailored to their unique needs, historically unavailable to them. They envision amplifying the art of Black Collegiate Musicians, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity among students.
The purpose of their national union is to unite Black Musicians across the U.S. Through their observations, many music organizations offer support to musicians at pre-collegiate and postgraduate levels.
This network would provide the following:
- Network amongst musicians at colleges all over the US.
- Mentorship amongst professionals in the field or other collegiate students.
- Space for community amongst peers. Allowing us to connect.
- Financial support through Scholarships, Emergency Funding, and Grants.
- Opportunity to experience live music making and to create music with professionals in the field with similar identities.
