Apogeo Collective
Apogeo Collective
Apogeo Collective is a boutique hospitality experience centering queer and trans people of color travelers, currently hosted in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua and The Catskills, New York.
Who They Are
Apogeo runs pop-up hospitality experiences (such as a Bed & Breakfast in San Juan del Sur and nature immersion camping trips in Upstate New York) that serve as gathering spaces for welcoming and thoughtful communion for its community members. It centers its existence on the principles of "pleasure activism," which asserts that we all need and deserve pleasure and that our social structures must reflect this, with a particular prioritization towards the pleasure of those most impacted by oppression.
What It Means
The name “Apogeo” serves as both an homage to Gioconda Belli— a Nicaraguan feminist poet, activist and author of the namesake collection of poems— as well as the culmination & meeting point of the founders’ individual work. With this space, our aim is to create open space for our guests to tap into apotheoses within themselves.
